We opened our Mint Plaza café in January of 2008, in the rear of the elegant 1912 Provident Loan Building in downtown San Francisco. In stark contrast to the old limestone-clad Mint just across the street, we’ve loaded this shop with our prettiest, most delicate gear: There is a five-light siphon bar, manufactured by the Lucky i. Cremas company of Japan; a vintage San Marco lever espresso machine, built sometime in the late 1970s; and a Kyoto-style iced coffee apparatus, which produces a delicate, refined and fragrant cold-brewed coffee.

The Mint is our only cafe with a full food program. On weekdays, we serve breakfast (8 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) and lunch (noon-2:30 p.m.). Brunch, on weekends, runs from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Alongside a few permanent items -- our Blue Bottle Benedict, Belgian-style wafel and steel-cut oats -- we offer a rotating selection of seasonal soups and salads. In addition, we use vat-pasteurized, 100 percent Jersey milk from St. Benoît in all milk drinks.
