Restaurant 2(Oh!)4, an expansion and sister facility to Blue Bottle, opened quietly in late November in the 200 block of South Walnut Street, and owner Tom Green said customers have been finding their way inside.
"We did a little bit of advertising, but we wanted to make sure all the bugs were worked out," said Green, who bought Blue Bottle from Tom Steiner in 2007. "We're still tweaking the flow between the kitchen and the front end, but we are open and running it full-time."
In the summer, Green began the expansion of Blue Bottle -- into a nearby building owned by Jay Allardt -- and intended to open Restaurant 2(Oh!)4 in early November, but the debut was postponed by delays in receiving materials.
The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and its lunch menu has been expanded and changed somewhat from that previously offered by Blue Bottle.
Green said his customers have responded well so far to the restaurant's burgers.
"This is beef country," he said, adding that he didn't expect customers to beat a path to their door for hamburgers.
Green said he's attracted customers from as far away as Farmland and New Castle.
"They've heard new restaurants are being opened and they needed to visit downtown Muncie," Green said.
